Wings Etc. voted ‘Best Chicken Wings’ in Topeka for 2nd consecutive year
Topeka Capital-Journal’s readers vote Wings Etc. Topeka “Best Chicken Wings” again in 2021
TOPEKA, Kan. (Oct. 7, 2021)— Results of the Topeka Capital-Journal’s annual “Best of the Best” readers’ choice awards were recently announced and—although Wings Etc. Grill & Pub in Topeka has only been open for 15 months—the locally-owned sports pub earned the title “Best Chicken Wings” for the second straight year.
Dave and Cara Clingenpeel, owners of Wings Etc. in Topeka, said their early and ongoing success is a testament to the quality of their namesake item.
“I think it’s the quality of our wings, the size, the crispiness, and our wing sauces and rubs that set us apart,” said Dave Clingenpeel. “When guests add all those things together, they seem to put us on top.”
Wings Etc. opened in Topeka in June 2020 and won their first Topeka Capital-Journal “Best Chicken Wings” award just a few months later. While there have been many challenges over the past year, Clingenpeel said that, from opening day, he and his team have worked hard to make a positive local impression and haven’t let pandemic and other complications diminish their efforts or enthusiasm.
“We’re only 15 months old in the Topeka area, and no one had heard of us before,” said Clingenpeel. “Last year when we won ‘Best Wings,’ we had only been open a couple of months. It’s exciting to know our fan base continues to enjoy our wings and support what we do. We are so grateful for our community and the support they give us, and we are thrilled to be their ‘Best Wing’ choice for the second straight year.”
Wings Etc. Topeka is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. They are located at 2139 SW Fairlawn Plaza Drive in Topeka, Kansas.
